Like you, I believe that our role as educators is to support students in becoming engaged, skillful learners. I also believe that every student is creative, that every student has something to say, and that we as teachers can help them find their voice.

I know that there are many challenges that stand in the way of achieving this goal: lack of time for writing and grammar instruction, an over-emphasis on standardized test scores, and pressure from unsupportive non-educators to name just a few.

That’s why I take a no-nonsense approach to writing and grammar instruction. I’m passionate about finding simplicity on the other side of complexity and sharing writing and grammar strategies that work.
